Why i think the Reboot Mortal kombat film is heading for a flop?

Written by Movie Knights

Mortal kombat started way back in 1993 with a arcade game, that grow in to one of the biggest frachines in gaming history that produce three films one of which was animated. with the success of 1995 mortal kombat it show the potential the movie franchise had until its sequel destroy any hope with  Mortal kombat annihilation.

The game franchise has survived for years especial with it Lastest Mortal kombat 11 with new character such as Terminator, Spawn, Xenomorph, robocop, now Rambo joining the franchise of bloody carnage.
Since 2018 their was word of a reboot film that was coming, but their was no confirmation or word on the film, until 2019 it was confirmed a mortal kombat reboot was on its way.

It was meant to be a release date in 2020 but dur to virus situation its was delayed for march 2021, few days ago it was reported that the reboot has been push forward to january 15th 2021, which is great new as we get to see it early if nothing esle goes wrong.

But here why i feel this film is gonna flop.

Accord to report that finished filming some time in january 2020, they were in the process of Editing the film. We were supposed to have been expecting a Trailer in sumer 2020 but the virus hit which is understandable, but the lock down has been lifted cinema have reopened, well some have but alot remain close but the Main issue i feel this film will flop is the lack of advertisement on this film.

You can't just expect a film to be successful by just release a film without trailers, no one's gonna know the film is out or has been released, this is the same thing that happen with the outstanding reboot of Dredd that flop purely on the fact of no advertisement and no one knew it was out.

I feel the same way is coming for this Reboot of Mortal kombat, its now coming to the end of October, the film is released in january, its only got two months to produce a trailer, still has produced one date or update on realising the trailer date so what going on?

I having a feeling this film is being poorly managed and it why we havent see a trailer, if it doesnt produce on in the next two months they release the film in january, the film will head for a flop, which will be a shame since the film has a good casting.

Roberts made a statement teasing his "terrifying vision" for the reboot, while producer Robert Kulzer revealed that the movie will be set in Raccoon City in 1998. This is what the director had to say.

"With this movie I really wanted to go back to the original first two games and recreate the terrifying visceral experience I had when I first played them whilst at the same time telling a grounded human story about a small dying American town that feels both relatable and relevant to today’s audiences - Roberts

After a dozen games, six live action movies and hundreds of pages of fan fiction, we felt compelled to return to the year 1998, to explore the secrets hidden in the walls of the Spenser Mansion and Raccoon City - Kulzer".

This will please fan of the original have its set in the mansion itself.

There has also been other casting for those reboot with some formula names Robbie Amell has been casted as Chris Redfield,  Tom Hopper been cast as Albert Wesker, Avan Jogia  has been casted as Leon S. Kennedy,  Neal McDonough as  William Birkin.

Good thing as well as this director Roberts' experience in atmospheric horror films, rather than action, pointing to the fact that the movie should be pretty terrifying and dark which is what fans wanted.
